BIRDING, TRAILS Covering only 36 ha, the Cape St Francis Nature Reserve protects a delicately balanced habitat of sand-dunes and coastal fynbos (heath) in an area that has seen much destruction by property developers. The varied birdlife attracted to the reserve includes marine and terrestrial species. Location: South of Humansdorp. Access: From Humansdorp take the R330 to the village of Cape St Fracis. From here the reserve is best reached on foot. Accommodation: None. There are cottages and a camping site at Cape St Francis. Other facilities: Walking, fishing. Open: Throughout the year Opening time: 24 hours.
